Vietnam Photos
Here they are, folks – the photos from Vietnam! More will be added as I get time, but for now – enjoy 🙂
This ridiculous crowd in Hanoi isn’t in some public square – it’s in the middle of the main road! Or, it was…
Eating Pho, a delicious noodle soup, in Hanoi
All the buildings in Vietnamese towns and cities are like this – bizarrely narrow, to avoid the ‘frontage’ tax, and bizarrely tall because otherwise they’d only have one room!
Cat Ba Island, seen from the top. Taken with a camera that had just been dumped off the back of a motorbike…
Another narrow hotel on Cat Ba Island. One room per floor – and steps at the back.
A floating house in Ha Long Bay
My favouritest of things to do on boats – this was after our climbing trip from Cat Ba Island.
The sleeper buses in Vietnam were comparatively luxurious – nice padded seat/beds, blankets – and a toilet!
This sign lists the impressive healing benefits of this special Honey… yours for one low price!
Street food kitchen in HCMC – everything she needs to cook a delicious meal of noodles!
The insane tangle of power lines in Vietnamese Cities were ridiculous. Imagine having to sort them out…
…which is exactly what these poor sods had to do! I mean, really – where do you start?
Canyoning in Da Lat was epic fun! I wasn’t the most elegant abseiler, but few people are when there’s a waterfall in the way!
Vicky and Roo enjoyed their city tour of Da Lat. But the anatomically correct concrete animals in the park were a highlight…
The Crazy House REALLY deserves its name!
Staircase into The Crazy House.
Construction was ongoing in the Crazy House… and had been for the last few decades!
This is what passed for night life in Da Lat – the Disco Bakery!
Fancy dress in Hue Citadel – I think I’d make a very saucy Emperor!
Roo and Vicky also had their own take on the dressing up game in Hue Citadel…
Masking Tape Street! The whole road was lined, both sides, with shops identical to this one. I’ve never seen so much tape and packaging material in one place. Which begs the question: who buys it all?
A delightful-sounding beverage… Not really my cup of tea.
Most cheap Ha Long Bay tours ditch their customers on any old boat. Like this one – which our more expensive tour company ditched us on.
The only Amazing thing about the Amazing Cave was the view out of it.
